31 University Delegates to be voice of CIHR

I am pleased to announce the appointment of 31 CIHR University Delegates who have accepted to represent the Canadian Institutes of Health Research on campus and with university affiliated institutions. I welcome each of them to a team that has been given the unique opportunity to develop a world class health research enterprise.

The CIHR University Delegate role is a vital one in the virtual environment we are building. Through them, we will double our efforts to reach the broadest health research community within the university and its affiliated institutions, keep them informed of directions, initiatives and decisions, and solicit their active participation on awareness activities. Through them, we will seek the views of the community on research opportunities and be attentive to concerns expressed on CIHR business.

I am grateful for the support of university Vice-President of Research in the selection of these appointments and in recognizing these strategic positions as a key element of our efforts to facilitate a fulsome exchange of information and ideas between researchers, research administrators and the Governing Council, Scientific Directors and staff.

The appointments are effective as of today. We look forward to a productive relationship with the Delegates.
