CIHR's Institute of Genetics (IG) and Institute of Population and Public Health (IPPH) are pleased to announce the results of the competition (see table below) under the strategic initiative on "Novel Population Genetic and Genetic Epidemiological Methods for Studies of Complex Genetic Diseases".
The program was designed to build research capacity in the area of population genetics and genetic epidemiology of complex diseases with important environmental co-determinants.
A total of twelve applications were submitted in December 2002. Applications were reviewed by an ad hoc peer review committee, resulting in four applications being approved for funding (success rate of 33%).
