IA Showcase

In its short history, the IA has had some notable achievements.

It has invested in new Teams in Aging that are fostering new talent and enhancing aging research capacity in Canada. It is breaking new ground with innovative, multidisciplinary projects like the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging, Mobility in Aging and the Cognitive Impairment in Aging Strategy. And, it is recognizing new and established talent through unique programs like the Age Plus Award for outstanding journal articles on aging issues, as well as the CIHR IA Recognition Prize in Research on Aging aimed at encouraging and honouring our brightest rising stars.

Through a special series of five Regional Seniors' Workshop on Research (RSWR) held across the country between 2004 and 2006, seniors and seniors' organizations were able to contribute their own voice to identifying the needs and priorities for aging research in Canada.
