CIHR Partnership Award

The CIHR Partnership Award recognizes partnerships that exemplify excellence by bringing health research communities together. These collaborations of one or more partners from the private, voluntary or public sectors create innovative approaches to research questions, develop research agendas that are responsive to the health needs, concerns and priorities of Canadians, and accelerate the translation of knowledge for the benefit of Canadians.

The CIHR Partnership Award recipients receive a framed certificate of recognition. Their collaboration is highlighted on the CIHR website, in communication materials and in a commemoration at CIHR's corporate office. As well, the partnership is included as a "best practice" in the CIHR partnership casebook. CIHR provides travel and accommodation for the recipient and guest to attend the Canadian Health Research Awards - A Celebration of Excellence gala evening.

Who is eligible?

The CIHR Partnership Award emphasizes innovative cross-sectoral partnerships that promote excellence. Any partnership with one or more external partners (including private, voluntary or public-sector partners) that is synergistic and fosters better research and improved health for Canadians, more effective health services and products, and a strengthened Canadian health care system is eligible for nomination by the general public, CIHR's partner organizations, and CIHR institutes.
