NICHD-IHDCYH 2007 Summer Institutes (Archived)



CIHR-IHDCYH and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) of the National Institutes of Health organize Annual Summer Institutes in Maternal-Fetal Pharmacology (SI - Pharmacology) and in Reproductive and Perinatal Epidemiology (SI - Epidemiology). The 3rd Summer Institutes will be held in Château Bromont, Canada, the week of July 29th to August 4th.

Summer Institute Overview and Objectives

| The course aims at clinical and non-clinical scientists who are considering academic careers in studying therapeutics during pregnancy, the perinatal period and lactation. | The course provides substantive and methodologic training in human fecundity and fertility, pregnancy and perinatal outcomes, maternal health, fetal growth and development, developmental disabilities, and promising new approaches for studying these outcomes. |
| The overall objective of the Summer Institute is to foster the development of a critical mass of researchers and clinicians in this neglected area. |
The objectives of this Institute are: 1)To further prepare students and fellows for careers in reproductive and perinatal epidemiology and 2) To foster future collaborations amongst participants and with the faculty beyond the time frame of the Summer Institute. |
