The Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH) promotes and supports research that improves the health and development of mothers, infants, children, youth, and families in Canada and throughout the world.
IHDCYH is launching a competition for research trainees (graduate students and postdoctoral fellows) to present their own research at annual, or other regular interval, meetings including international conferences, related to the Institute's mandate. The maximum amount for a single award is $1,000 to partially cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and registration. Up to 10 awards will be available for each of 4 competitions per year. The application deadlines are January 15th, April 15th, June 15th, and October 1st.

All annual conferences (including international meetings) related to the Institute's mandate are eligible under this program.
The trainees' research supervisor must be affiliated with IHDCYH (The research supervisor indicates IHDCYH as the "suggested CIHR Institute" on his application when applying to CIHR open grant competition).
For each competition, the number of trainees applying from the same research team (same supervisor) is limited to 2.
Applications for IHDCYH travel award will be assessed by Institute senior staff, based on strength of the application relative to some or all of the following criteria:
The student or fellow must be the first author and presenter of the oral communication or poster.
In each training category (postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, and master students), priority will be given, in the order shown, to:
