Application Process

1. Review the CIHR Guidelines for Grant Programs.

2. Read the following Guidelines for the Completion of the Modules:

• Guidelines for Completion of the Research Module
• Guidelines for Completion of the Operating Budget Module
• Guidelines for Completion of the Common CV (Validated for CIHR)

3. You may also familiarize yourself with the PDF versions of the information being requested:

4. Have your PIN ready.

5. Have your application number ready (this number is sent by CIHR after registration).

6. Complete the Research Module - [ Web Forms ].

7. Follow any additional instructions that are provided in the "How to Apply" section of the funding opportunity.

8. Complete the Operating Budget Module - [ Web Forms ] ensuring that a detailed justification for all costs is provided. 

9. Complete the Common CV (Validated for CIHR) and all other required CVs.

10. Complete the Industrial Partnership Module, if required (refer to the funding opportunity "How to Apply" section).

11. Obtain all necessary signatures.

12. Consult the Registration/Application Checklist for Grants Programs to ensure that your application package is complete - [ PDF (48 KB) | Help ].

13. Send, by courier, 9 copies (1 original, 8 copies) of the application package (unless otherwise specified in the "How to Apply" section of the funding opportunity) to the address contained in the "How to Apply" section of the funding opportunity.
