CIHR Priority Announcement - Research Personnel Awards

Fall 2006 Competition Results

The Ontario Women's Health Council (OWHC) established this joint program with the CIHR Institute of Gender and Health to achieve its goal of building women's health research capacity in Ontario. The awards funded under this program will create a legacy for the OWHC by seeding women's health research and scholarships in Ontario, supporting excellent women's health researchers who will become the next generation of independent academics and help them build their research careers in women's health

Applications considered for funding were deemed relevant to the following areas:

  • Access and equity for vulnerable populations, including violence and health, health equity, and access to health-related services
  • Promoting health in the context of chronic and infectious conditions and disabilities
  • Gender and health across the lifespan, including child and youth health, healthy aging, work, leisure and health, caregiving, reproductive and sexual health
  • Promoting positive health behaviours and preventing addictions
  • Gender and physical and social environments
