CIHR Cafés continually prove to be valuable educational experiences for everyone involved.
Currently, CIHR supports the creation of Cafés not only at the corporate level. Funding is also provided to CIHR's 13 Institutes as well as affiliated Canadian universities, research institutions, science centres and museums.
Hosting a Café can be a challenge though. Organizers need to decide where the Café will take place, choose a health topic of interest, decide which specialists could offer answers to questions posed by the audience, develop an advertising campaign that will reach the general public, and select a moderator who can make sure that everybody takes part in the conversation.
To help people face this challenge, and ensure that CIHR Cafés are universal in presentation, guidelines exist for both organizers and participants. These guidelines will help everyone understand their involvement in the event's structure.
