Indoor Air Exposures, Genes, and Gene-Environment Interactions in the Etiology of Asthma and Allergy in Early Childhood
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity is to advance knowledge about the etiology of childhood asthma and allergy, and particularly the roles of indoor environments, genes, and the interactions of genes with indoor and other environmental exposures. It is expected that this targeted investment will yield new leads on the causes of these common diseases in children; the development and testing of preventive interventions; the establishment of new guidelines for housing construction, renovation, and maintenance; and the design of ventilation and heating systems for homes and day care facilities for infants and young children.
