Summer Institute Overview and Objectives

SI - Pharmacology
(July 10 - 15, 2011 - Montreal, Quebec)
SI - Epidemiology
(July 17 - 22, 2011 - Philadelphia, PA)
The course provides training for clinical and non-clinical scientists who are considering academic careers in studying therapeutics during pregnancy, the perinatal period, and lactation. The course provides substantive and methodologic training in human fecundity and fertility, pregnancy and perinatal outcomes, maternal health, fetal growth and development, developmental disabilities, and promising new approaches for studying these outcomes.
The main objective of the Institute is to foster the development of a critical mass of researchers and clinicians in this neglected area.

The objectives of this Institute are: 1)To further prepare students and fellows for careers in reproductive and perinatal epidemiology and 2) To foster future collaborations amongst participants and with the faculty beyond the time frame of the Summer Institute.
