Operating Grants - Canadian Breast Cancer Research Alliance
CIHR, in partnership with the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Alliance (CBCRA), are pleased to announce the results of the CBCRA/CIHR Operating Grant competition (see table below).CBCRA/CIHR operating grants are offered to CIHR operating grant applications based on a screening process to determine their relevance to breast cancer research. Eligibility of the applications for the program is determined after submission. Applications deemed relevant are anonymously reviewed through CIHR review panels as regular CIHR operating grant applications.
Since applications are adjudicated and administered by CIHR, grantees will be required to submit annual financial reports to CIHR. In addition, because these grants are also considered CBCRA grants, grantees will be required to submit, to the CBCRA office, annual progress reports, as well as lists of all publications resulting in whole or in part from their CBCRA/CIHR grant, which will thus be included in the CBCRA Research Portfolio. Grantees will also be invited to present their results at CBCRA's Reasons for Hope conferences.
Funding decisions for eligible projects are made based on the recommendations of the CIHR review panels and the funding envelope for the program.
Operating funds totalling $833,194 are being provided for the first year to eligible projects. The table below identifies the number of applications received and approved under the CBCRA/CIHR Operating Grant Competition (to access a list of applications approved for funding through this competition, please refer to the table below).
