Institute of Infection and Immunity (III) - Pandemic Preparedness Strategic Research Initiative (PPSRI) - Catalyst Grant: Pandemic Preparedness

The CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity (III) in collaboration the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) are pleased to announce the results of the Catalyst Grant: Pandemic Preparedness (Mobilization of the Research Community for Outbreak Response) competition.

The purpose of this funding opportunity was to further strengthen Canadian influenza research in preparation for a potential pandemic outbreak by funding one-year catalyst grants to start the planning and preparatory phase of research projects that will be essential for pandemic control during an outbreak and data gathering for analysis and recommendations for future outbreaks. It is expected that this targeted investment will contribute to the preparedness of the Canadian pandemic and influenza research community for outbreak projects

A total of 14 full applications were reviewed b the Catalyst Grant: Pandemic Preparedness Peer Review Committee, of which five were rated above 3.5 on the CIHR rating scale. All five successful applications will be funded.
