ICRH 2008 Young Investigators (YI) Forum - Post Event

The ICRH 2008 Young Investigators (YI) Forum was held in Montreal from May 8th -10th.  The event was a great success with over two hundred participants from across the country.  The YI Forum is a major training and educational initiative of CIHR’s Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) where trainees and young investigators such as graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinician trainees, and junior faculty, have an opportunity to learn about latest research finding in the circulatory and respiratory fields, develop leadership skills, interact with colleagues and mentors, as well as showcase their research. 

Awards were given to those researchers whose work most demonstrated scientific rigour, innovation, and potential for advancement and impact within their respective fields.  The following participants received an award for their research:   Nathalie Samson, Université de Sherbrooke; Scott Grandy, Montreal Heart Institute; Diala Harb, Université de Montréal, Kristian Filion, McGill University; Shereen Hamza, University of Alberta; Hugh Kim, University of Toronto; Ava Chow, University of Alberta, and Artavazd Tadevosyan, Montreal Heart Institute.
