Catalyst Grant: Pilot Projects in Aging

The CIHR's Institute of Aging (IA) is pleased to announce the results of the December 2007 competition of the Catalyst Grant: Pilot Projects in Aging (see table below).

The purpose of the 'Catalyst Grant: Pilot Projects in Aging' Funding Opportunity is to encourage and stimulate new and established investigators to undertake new, high priority research challenges in the field of aging within the context of the Catalyst Grant program.

The specific objectives of this Funding Opportunity are:

  • to support innovative ideas and projects within the IA's five priority topics for research on aging and health, in order to help researchers to subsequently obtain research grants from the regular programs;
  • to build research capacity in aging by attracting researchers to the IA's five priority research topics; and
  • to generate new knowledge regarding the IA's five priority research topics.
