Team Grant: Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment - Letter of Intent Review

CIHR Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction in partnership with CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health, CIHR Institute of Gender and Health and Purdue Pharma are pleased to announce the results of the Letter of Intent (LOI) review for the "Team Grant: Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment" Funding Opportunity.

The purpose of this funding opportunity is to challenge researchers working across a host of disciplines representing the full spectrum of health research to undertake work that will contribute to our understanding of alcohol, psychotropic pharmaceutical and illicit drug (including stimulants such as cocaine and methamphetamine) use, abuse and addiction as well as relevant cross-addictions and co-morbidity problems. It is expected that this targeted research investment will lead to improved or effective prevention and treatment and other intervention strategies, specifically in terms of practice, programming and policy.

A total of 8 letters of intent were submitted to the competition and all 8 have been invited to submit full applications.
