CHVI Catalyst Grants

Participants at the CHVI consultations highlighted a need to support new investigators and innovative approaches where there might not be sufficient preliminary data for them to be funded through regular CIHR competitions. To address this need, a CHVI Catalyst Grant funding opportunity was launched on August 1, 2008. The CIHR Catalyst Grant program provides seed money, on a short-term basis, to support health research activities which represent a first step towards the pursuit of more comprehensive funding opportunities (e.g. operating grants, team grants).
