Guidelines on Becoming a Mentor

1. Go to the Common CV website.
2. Click on "Logon".
3. Click on "click here to register".
4. Please read the user agreement carefully. Click on "I agree and wish to continue".
5. Complete all of the requested fields. Mandatory fields are indicated with a check mark.
6. Click on "Complete my registration".
7. You will then receive an e-mail, click on the link in your e-mail message in order to confirm your registration.
8. On the next page, read the terms and conditions and then click on "I agree and wish to continue".
9. Login with your new login name and password.
10. Choose "Do not import - Go to home page".
11. Choose your current status (ie: as Postdoctoral Student or Researcher) and then "Save".
12. On the right-hand side of the next page, click on the "Synapse/Youth Connection" link that is located under "My file" menu.
13. Click on "Yes, I wish to become a mentor (I agree to the terms and conditions)", then "Save" and then "Modify Synapse Data".
14. In order for us to meet your mentorship needs, please answer the questions on the next page, click on "Save" and then click on "Submit".

To help us better understand your area of expertise, please visit the Common CV "Work experience" and "Expertise" sections (which can be accessed by selecting "Home - My CV" from the top navigation bar) and complete the following:

• Work experience: indicate your position and your primary affiliation (this can be selected once a current work experience entry has been inputed)
• Expertise: indicate the disciplines that best correspond to your research interests
