The Terry Fox New Frontiers Program is wholly funded by the Terry Fox Foundation. CIHR is responsible for administering the competition and the grants awarded. This program was previously administered by the National Cancer Institute of Canada (NCIC), which ceased to exist as of February 1, 2009 as the result of its merger with the Canadian Cancer Society.
CIHR and the Terry Fox Foundation are committed to maintaining the standard of excellence established by NCIC for the research funded through the Terry Fox New Frontiers Program.
