Health research evidence suggests it's hard to be an older mom – getting pregnant can be a challenge and there are higher risks of miscarriage, stillbirth and prematurity. There are also concerns about having the energy required to cope with energetic toddlers. But then there's the good side: more patience, better financial security, and more time for education and career can benefit both mother and child. Waiting later to have kids – more and more women are doing it. So come and learn more about some of the health challenges and benefits of motherhood past age 35.
Join us for refreshments and lively discussions about the latest health research evidence. This free event is presented by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and its Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health. Space is limited. Presentations will be in French only.
