CIHR's Communications and Marketing Branch wins a 2009 APEX Award
CIHR's Marketing and Communications team was recognized with a prestigious Award of Excellence for Leadership in Service Innovation from the Association of Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada (APEX). This particular award, a partnership between APEX and Deloitte, is given to a team of public servants, recognized for having developed an innovative practice which has led directly to improved delivery of service to the citizen or client. The Marketing and Communications team received recognition for innovative outreach efforts. Examples include: Synapse mentorship opportunities for Canadian youth; the Café Scientifique program about popular health issues; and the Journalism Workshop series, that helps to exchange information about cutting-edge health research in Canada.
The APEX Awards are recognized as one of the highest honours given to members of the public service. At CIHR we encourage and support the kind of innovation and creative thinking that helped the Marketing and Communications team win this important award.
