The objectives of the "Operating Grant: Winter 2009 Priority Announcement (CIHR Institute of Cancer Research - Bridge Funding)" were to:
- ensure the establishment or the maintenance of excellent research programs;
- give new principal investigators the possibility to strengthen their proposals before resubmitting them; and
- afford established principal investigators an opportunity to resubmit their research proposal without the loss of momentum, staff, or trainees.
