Funding Opportunity Summary

The CIHR HIV/AIDS Research Initiative is supported by the Federal Initiative to Address HIV/AIDS in Canada. The HIV/AIDS CBR Program, which is part of the CIHR HIV/AIDS Research Initiative, assists community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations and institutions in developing the knowledge necessary to carry out their HIV/AIDS work in the most effective manner, and in creating the expertise within these communities to conduct their own research. The "Other: Research Facilitators in HIV/AIDS (Community-Based Research)" competition is one of several funding tools used by the HIV/AIDS CBR Program.

The objectives of the "Other: Research Facilitators in HIV/AIDS (Community-Based Research)" were:

  • To develop and enhance community-based research capacity among Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community representatives and researchers from both academic and non-academic settings;
