The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the results of the "Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research's Contextualized Health Research Synthesis Program" competition.

Funding Opportunity Summary

The objectives of the funding opportunity "Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research's Contextualized Health Research Synthesis Program" were to:

  • Expand the impact of the Evidence on Tap pilot by producing rapid, contextualized syntheses for decision makers in Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • To contribute to evidence-informed policy and decision making at the provincial level in Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • To support an alternative model for producing rapid and relevant synthesis evidence for decision that could inform further development of the Evidence on Tap initiative; and
  • To demonstrate that CIHR and Canada's health research community can offer an accelerated response option for decision makers who want timely, synthesized evidence on issues of high importance.
