Microbiologically Safe Food and Water Initiative

The formation of the 17-member Canadian Research Coalition for Safe Food and Water in 2002 heralded the beginning of a new era of cooperation between federal departments, funding agencies and industry associations. Together the group identified national research priorities and developed a process for combining funds, resources and assets to jointly address this important health issue.  The Safe Food and Water initiative was developed and launched to address two CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity priorities, Antimicrobial Resistance and Microbiologically Safe Food and Water.
