The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the results of the Training Grant: Genetic Epidemiology competition.

Funding Opportunity Summary

The specific objective of this initiative is to increase Canadian research capacity in genetic epidemiology by attracting excellent trainees from any one of the several educational or research backgrounds including epidemiology, statistics, mathematics, molecular biology, genetics and other relevant disciplines. The trainees (e.g. investigators moving from other disciplines, undergraduate and graduate students) will develop skills to be able i) to bridge laboratory-based research and population health research, ii) to address questions in study design and methodology for genetic epidemiologic research and iii) to develop and apply novel genetic and statistical approaches toward the goal of preventing chronic diseases.
