University Delegates Network Terms of Reference

The University Delegates' Teleconferences/Annual Meeting will be chaired by the Vice-President, Research Portfolio or his/her delegate. Participants will include:

| Meetings | Teleconferences will be conducted on the first Thursday of every month. One face-to-face meeting will be held in Ottawa annually. A date will be selected in collaboration with the Network. |
| Mandate | The mandate of the University Delegates' Network is to keep the health research community informed of directions, initiatives and decisions of CIHR, and solicit their active participation or awareness. Through the University Delegates, CIHR will seek the views of the community on health research issues and be attentive to concerns expressed on CIHR business. |
| Roles and Responsibilities | To be developed. |
| Evaluation | On an annual basis, a review of the terms of reference. |
| Authority | The University Delegates are intended to operate in the way it deems most efficient by the Vice President, Research Portfolio. |
| Reporting | The University Delegate will keep their University and Institutions informed of CIHR initiatives and opportunities in the manner best suited to each individual Institution. Concerns raised by University Delegates will be transmitted to CIHR senior management through the Vice President, Research. |
| Terms | Members will be appointed by their respective Institutions to serve for an initial term of three years and could be renewable. |
