It Takes a Village... : Health Research is Everyone's Business – Get Involved!
Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 5:30 p.m.
Johnny Farina Restaurant
216 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario
What if you had identified a really important health issue but didn't quite know how to address it? What if you weren't focusing on the right issue? This can be the case whether you are a researcher, a community agency or a community member. Health researchers and communities are recognizing the value of working together to study health issues that affect communities, such as homelessness, HIV/AIDS and poverty. They are establishing collaborative partnerships as they develop, implement and analyze the results of research projects. This work leads to a better understanding of the community, better research and, ultimately, better health outcomes. Working together produces lasting solutions that fit with communities, and citizens like you play a critical role in the research process. Come learn more about ways in which you can get involved in health research in Canada.
