Bullying. Research clearly shows it hurts victims, as well as the bullies. Research also reveals that our gender affects how we bully and how bullying affects us. High school students across BC report alarming rates of bullying and peer violence. These experiences are shaped by gender and other factors like ethnicity, sexual orientation, and social context. Knowing this information, how can we stop bullying? How can we make our schools and communities safer for youth? And, how can we prevent verbal, social, physical, sexual and cyber-bullying?
Join us for lively discussions, debates and refreshments. This free event is presented by the CIHR Institute of Gender and Health and the CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health. The venue is wheelchair accessible. If you have accessibility needs, please contact the organizers and we will do our best to accommodate you.
