Message from the President - Congratulations to 2010 Canada Research Chairs

On behalf of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, I wish to congratulate the 2010 Canada Research Chair recipients working in the field of health sciences. This prestigious honour recognizes the highest standards of health research. These individuals are acknowledged by their peers as leaders in their respective areas of expertise, and their research has the potential to improve the lives of Canadians.

2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the Canada Research Chairs program. Over the past ten years, the program has produced scientific breakthroughs and built economic opportunities for Canadians. It has enabled Canada to strengthen its position as a world leader in research excellence. 2010 also marks the 10th anniversary of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. As we celebrate a decade of health research achievements, we also celebrate the achievements of the Canada Research Chairs program and the positive impacts they have produced.

I offer my best wishes to the Canada Research Chairholders and wish them success in all their research endeavours.
