New Canadian Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Monitoring System
The Public Health Agency of Canada is supporting the development of a
new Canadian Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Monitoring System. This system will increase our understanding of
MS patterns in Canada by providing information on disability, treatments, health outcomes, and quality of life. It will also help
MS patients, health care professionals, researchers, policy makers, and Canadians to better identify
MS and its impact on people. Enhancing the availability of accurate information on chronic diseases is a
PHAC priority and
MS is the most common neurological disease affecting adults in Canada. The Canadian Institute for Health Information (
CIHI) will develop the monitoring system, working in collaboration with the Canadian Network of
MS Clinics and the
MS Society of Canada.
