Have you ever had an itchy part of skin that just won't go away? It may be more than just a rash. Of the 3,000 different skin conditions that can cause itches or pain, one of the most common is psoriasis. In Canada alone, approximately 1 million people deal with this recurring problem of itchy red or white patches of skin caused by faulty signaling of the human immune system. While it is not contagious, psoriasis could be genetically inherited. What treatments currently exist to control the condition? Are researchers any closer to understanding how the immune system causes psoriasis or other skin conditions?
Come and join experts to find out what is being done to help people with these conditions. This free event is hosted by CIHR Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis. Space is limited.
