Delivering on the Strategy
The International Collaborative Research Strategy for Alzheimer's Disease is composed of two complementary components that take advantage of the recognized excellence of Canadian research in neuroscience and aging:International component
The international component of the strategy has facilitated the participation of Canadian researchers in key international partnerships.
Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA)
The aim of the CCNA is to accelerate innovative and collaborative Canadian research in neurodegenerative diseases in aging that have an impact on cognition.
It is expected that this Strategy will increase the impact of the research and will enable Canadian researchers to lead and participate in the opportunities offered by a new wave of national and international initiatives. In addition, the CCNA is well positioned to help Canada respond to the World Health Organization Report "Dementia – A Public Health Priority" calling on countries to collaborate to find solutions to the cause and treatment of dementia.
