CIHR Roadmap Signature Initiative in Evidence-informed Healthcare Renewal
(2011-09-22) The Canadian Institutes of Health Research's new Evidence-Informed Healthcare Renewal (EIHR) initiative will support researchers and decision makers to advance the current state of knowledge, generate novel and creative solutions, and translate evidence for uptake into policy and practice to strengthen Canada's healthcare systems. The EIHR initiative focuses on three priority areas: financing and funding models; health system sustainability; and governance and accountability. Innovation in these areas will require contributions from a wide range of disciplines and methodological approaches. Health services and health policy research would greatly benefit from contributions from economics, political science, sociology, philosophy, law, and other relevant fields, and from the involvement of policy makers, decision makers and healthcare providers.
The EIHR initiative has priority announcements on the following funding opportunities:
- Advancing Theories and Methodological Innovations
- Partnerships for Health System Improvement
- Knowledge Synthesis
- Doctoral Research Awards
- Fellowship Awards
Please note that additional EIHR funding opportunities will be launched this fall, including Expedited Knowledge Synthesis and a new opportunity called Healthcare Renewal Policy Analysis.
