Ottawa (December 19) – Cleaning, entertaining and managing the expectations of your loved ones – does this sound relaxing to you? Each year, Canadians engage in a series of activities to make the festive period the most memorable of the year. While the holidays can bring joy and happiness, many experience increased stress as they get closer to family gatherings. Financial constraints, personal problems and fatigue may also lead to anxiety and depression.

In light of the festive season, CIHR-funded researchers are available to discuss the effects of stress on people and provide suggestions on how to have a healthier holiday.
