For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2005-06** there were 3,365 applications 2,245 were not approved, 33% were approved. Of the 33% 60 were additional funded full-term grants, 103 were additional funded bridge grants and 957 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2006-07 there were 3,672 applications 2,597 were not approved, 29% were approved. Of the 29% 72 were additional funded full-term grants, 87 were additional funded bridge grants and 916 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2007-08 there were 3,894 applications 2,815 were not approved, 28% were approved. Of the 28% 62 were additional funded full-term grants, 188 were additional funded bridge grants and 829 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2008-09 there were 3,625 applications 2,582 were not approved, 29% were approved. Of the 29% 59 were additional funded full-term grants, 168 were additional funded bridge grants and 816 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2009-10 there were 3,680 applications 2,535 were not approved, 31% were approved. Of the 31% 40 were additional funded full-term grants, 308 were additional funded bridge grants and 797 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2010-11 there were 4,416 applications 3,403 were not approved, 23% were approved. Of the 23% 39 were additional funded full-term grants, 168 were additional funded bridge grants and 806 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2011-12 there were 4,636 applications 3,675 were not approved, 21% were approved. Of the 21% 44 were additional funded full-term grants, 115 were additional funded bridge grants and 802 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding is to begin in fiscal year 2012-13, there were 4,577 applications, 3,607 were not approved, 21% were approved. Of the 21%, 37 were additional funded full-term grants, 133 were additional funded bridge grants and 801 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
- Additional full-term grants: Applications to the OOGP that are funded from other program budgets beyond the core competition budget, e.g. Institutes and external partners; usually financing the full peer review recommended term and amount.
- Bridge grants: Applications to the OOGP that are provided with up to one year of funding from other program budgets beyond the core competition budget.
**Applications approved in the September and March competitions of one year (e.g. September 2004 and March 2005) start to be financed in the subsequent fiscal year (e.g. fiscal year 2005-2006).

For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2005-06** there were 2,124 fundable applications 1,004 were not approved, 53% were approved. Of the 53% 60 were additional funded full-term grants, 103 were additional funded bridge grants and 957 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2006-07 there were 2,298 fundable applications 1,223 were not approved, 47% were approved. Of the 47% 72 were additional funded full-term grants, 87 were additional funded bridge grants and 916 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2007-08 there were 2,572 fundable applications 1,493 were not approved, 42% were approved. Of the 42% 62 were additional funded full-term grants, 188 were additional funded bridge grants and 829 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2008-09 there were 2,384 fundable applications 1,341 were not approved, 44% were approved. Of the 44% 59 were additional funded full-term grants, 168 were additional funded bridge grants and 816 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2009-10 there were 2,396 fundable applications 1,251 were not approved, 48% were approved. Of the 48% 40 were additional funded full-term grants, 308 were additional funded bridge grants and 797 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2010-11 there were 2,836 fundable applications 1,823 were not approved, 36% were approved. Of the 36% 39 were additional funded full-term grants, 168 were additional funded bridge grants and 806 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding was to begin in fiscal year 2011-12 there were 2,978 fundable applications 2,017 were not approved, 32% were approved. Of the 32% 44 were additional funded full-term grants, 115 were additional funded bridge grants and 802 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
For applications where funding is to begin in fiscal year 2012-13, there were 2,976 fundable applications, 2,005 were not approved, 33% were approved. Of the 33%, 37 were additional funded full-term grants, up to 133 were additional funded bridge grants and 801 were approved applications funded under OOGP core budget.
- Additional full-term grants: Applications to the OOGP that are funded from other program budgets beyond the core competition budget, e.g. Institutes and external partners; usually financing the full peer review recommended term and amount.
