The Early Career Award in Cancer

ICR is proud to support new investigators through this program and congratulates recipients.

The Program

This award was established to recognize the excellence of research being conducted in Canada. This award, in the amount of $25,000, will be given annually to a new investigator or investigators (under five years as an independent researcher) in the field of cancer with the highest ranking (by percent (%) rank) in the Project Scheme competitions that fall within the ICR mandate. This award is non-renewable and aims at supporting research in accordance to the CIHR Funding Policies.

Next period of eligibility: year 2020
Next expected funding start date: April 2021

Evaluation

The award will be given to the New Investigators that are a recipients of a grant from the Fall competition of the Foundation and Project Scheme, with the highest rankings (by percent (%) rank). CIHR's staff will provide the list of ICR grantees and will determine with Institute staff the eligibility of the recipient.
