Summer in Canada is the perfect time to get outside. Swimming, hiking, camping, barbequing – there are plenty of ways to enjoy the beautiful weather. But if you plan to eat outside, or take a dip in the water, there are some unseen risks you need to consider. Diseasecausing bugs could be growing on food left out in the sun, or swimming around in that refreshing-looking lake.

What should you watch out for? What precautions should you take to avoid getting sick? How do researchers determine if our food and water is safe?

Come to our Café Scientifique to learn more about food and water safety.

Bring your questions and ideas and join the conversation. This is a free event. Hosted by CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity.
