SUPPORT Units – Demonstration projectEach jurisdiction is required to submit a short description of a demonstration research project that can be carried out in the context of the SUPPORT Unit. The purpose of this project is to be an exemplar of how the unit will function in practice, highlighting its capabilities and the short-term impacts it will have. The project should be of a scope and scale that completion within a 2-year time frame is realistic.
It is expected that work on the demonstration project would either:
- Commence immediately following the establishment of the SUPPORT Unit; or
- Will build on existing work to further advance a demonstration project that has already begun but which will be substantively enhanced/improved as a result of the SUPPORT Unit.
The demonstration project will be conducted within the scope of the overall funding for the SUPPORT Unit, i.e. no additional funding will be provided for the conduct of the project.
The description of the demonstration project should not be longer than 2-3 pages in length and should clearly outline the following elements:
- A description of the project, including the objectives, the issue to be addressed and the impacts.
- The approach to conducting the project.
