Message from the President: INMHA Scientific Director term renewal2014-03-03
It is with great pleasure that I, along with the CIHR Governing Council, announce the renewal of the term of Dr. Anthony Phillips, as Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction (CIHR-INMHA), from April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2017.
Under Dr. Phillips’ leadership, CIHR-INMHA has continued to foster innovation, discovery and knowledge translation in the brain-mind health research community.
Thanks to Dr. Phillips’ vision and collaborative approach, the Institute has become a sought-after partner, both in Canada and around the world, and thus, maximized the number and types of opportunities available to its research community and other stakeholders.
Amongst his many accomplishments since joining CIHR-INMHA in 2009, Dr. Phillips has been a strong advocate for research on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Notably, he has spearheaded the creation of the Canadian partnership in support of TBI research and led CIHR’s participation in the International Initiative for Traumatic Brain Injury Research (InTBIR), a collaborative effort of the European Commission, the National Institutes of Health and CIHR. He also serves as co-lead of two CIHR Signature Initiatives: the International Collaborative Research Strategy for Alzheimer's Disease and the Canadian Epigenetics, Environment and Health Research Consortium.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Phillips.
