Video transcript – Innovating children's and families' health conference[ back to About the event ]
Hello, my name is Shoo Lee. I am the Scientific Director of the Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. This year, on November 17 and 18, our institute will be hosting the annual “Innovating Children’s and Families’ Health Conference in Ottawa, during the same week as World Prematurity Day and National Children’s Day.
During this exciting event, we will gather key stakeholders from across the country and engage traditional and non-traditional partners to work together to advance child and family health. We will celebrate the successes of Canadian innovation in science and discovery and also address the opportunities and challenges going forward for our nation in child and family health. Our greatest success from this conference will be a call to action for Canada to be the best in the world in terms of children and family health outcomes.
An important part of this conference will be giving and volunteerism, because it is only with the critical partnerships of philanthropic and social partners that we can succeed in this agenda.
Through debate, discussion and networking, we hope to come together to build a renewed vision for child and family health for Canada into the 21st century. Thank you.
