IPPH moves to York University

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to share that as of July 1, 2017 IPPH will be moving to York University. This move came as a result of my appointed as Full Professor with a cross-appointment between the School of Health Policy and Management and Osgood Hall Law School. At York, I will be part of the new Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research (DIGHR), and York’s academic programs in global health and will be nominated for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Global Governance and Social Innovation.

With my appointment, CIHR-IPPH is now transitioning its headquarters to York University. This is the first time that York will host a CIHR Institute. Over the last few weeks, staff in Ottawa and Toronto have been working together to ensure a smooth transition. CIHR-IPPH will continue to provide the necessary vision and leadership to further build support for population and public health research. I look forward to continuing serve in my role as Scientific Director for CIHR-IPPH from my new home at York.

On a personal note, I am thrilled to be joining a group of world class scholars within the Faculty of Health and across York involved in global and population health. York University hosts Canada’s only global health program which will provide opportunities for new collaborations for our Institute. More information about my appointment is available on this news release.

We will continue to keep our community well-informed of news, developments and funding opportunities at CIHR-IPPH. Please invite your colleagues to subscribe to our email list.

Best,

Steven J. Hoffman JD PhD LLD
