IPPH moves to York University

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to share the news that IPPH has moved to York University as of July 1, 2017. This move came as a result of my own relocation to York University, where I have been appointed as a Full Professor with the School of Health Policy & Management and Osgoode Hall Law School. At York, I will be part of the new Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research and nominated for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Global Governance & Social Innovation. More information about my appointment is available in this news release.

This is the first time that York University is hosting a CIHR Institute. Over the last few weeks, staff in Ottawa and Toronto have been working together to ensure a smooth transition. IPPH will continue to provide the necessary leadership and support to further advance population and public health research in Canada and around the world. I look forward to continuing to serve in my roles as IPPH’s Scientific Director and CIHR’s Scientific Lead for Global Health from my new home in Toronto.

On a personal note, I am thrilled to be joining York University’s fantastic community of global health scholars who together are forging one of Canada’s leading epicentres for global health research. It will be great to be part of this community that celebrates interdisciplinarity and is proud of its history of critically engaged scholarship and social progress.

We at IPPH will continue to keep you updated on CIHR news, developments and funding opportunities. If you have not already done so, please let me take this opportunity to ask that you please invite your colleagues to subscribe to this email list.

Best,
Steven
