Message from Norman Rosenblum, INMD Scientific Director
August 2022

This is the time of year when Institute Advisory Boards (IAB) transition – members who have finished serving their terms retire, and new members are brought on board as part of IAB renewal. Dr. Christopher Kennedy (Ottawa Hospital Research Institute & Kidney Research Centre, University of Ottawa) is the current Chair of the INMD IAB and will be retiring from this role at the end of this month, along with Dr. Sukhinder Cheema (Memorial University of Newfoundland).

Chris has provided excellent leadership in his role of Chair of the IAB and has set the tone for respectful discourse and collegiality among the IAB members. Chris provided leadership and guidance in the development of the INMD Strategic Plan 2021-2026 and development of strategic research priorities.  Chris’ enthusiasm and talent in mentoring have been outstanding – he has participated in many past INMD Early Career Researcher Meetings where his leadership and presentations on grant-writing have been exceptional.  Chris’ talents have also been evident in his enthusiastic participation in all the INMD IAB team-building activities, from bowling to volleyball to highland dancing. We will miss Chris very much and wish him continued success and productivity in his research!

We will also miss Sukhinder’s contributions to the INMD IAB.  Sukhinder has brought her passion for the promotion of equity, diversity and inclusion, and the promoti on of women in science and nutrition to the IAB.

Thank you, Chris and Sukhinder, for your years of service and commitment to the INMD research communities and we wish you both all the best!

Dr. Chris Kennedy

Dr. Sukhinder Cheema

Sincerely,
